چکیده

The flight dynamics of a compound aircraft are highly coupled and significantly different from those single aircraft. In this paper, the characteristic three-unit connected analyzed in detail. By distinguishing aircraft’s modes into symmetric mode group an asymmetric group, mechanisms by which relative roll impact rigid-body vehicle become clear. trim configuration has profound influence on its stability modes. addition, can be separated full-state model appropriate simplifications, modal coupling mechanism evolution law analytically derived. key parameters have significant pointed out paper. Finally, common failure identified. A experiment with test data verifies correctness above theoretical analysis.

Mass Properties Identification of a Rigid Body Using Modal Analysis

In performing vibration analysis of the car engine on the engine support, it is necessary to know the mass properties of the engine including mass, position of the center of mass and mass inertia moments. Because the car engine has a relatively complex geometric shape and is composed of different components with different densities, determining its mass properties faces many challenges. There a...

Multi-body Dynamics and Modal Analysis of Compliant Gear Bodies

This paper extends the multi-body dynamics modelling strategy for rigid gears to include compliant gear bodies in multi-mesh transmissions. Only external, fixed center, helical or spur gears are considered. This formulation combines distributed gear mesh stiffness and gear blank compliance models in a multi-body dynamics framework resulting in a set of non-linear differential equations with tim...

System Identification Methods for Aircraft Flight Control Development and Validation

System-identification methods compose a mathematical model, or series of models, from measurements of inputs and outputs of dynamic systems. The extracted models allow the characterization of the response of the overall aircraft or component subsystem behavior, such as actua-tors and on-board signal processing algorithms. This paper discusses the use of frequency-domain system-identification me...

Validation of a numerical simulation tool for aircraft formation flight

This paper covers a numerical simulation of a NASA test flight utilizing a formation of two F18A Hornet aircraft. The numerical simulation was made using an adapted version of the vortex lattice method TORNADO, allowing for several aircraft to be simulated in a trimmed condition. The numerical results showed good agreement with the flight test data. Some discrepancies due to the numerical model...

Modeling, simulation and analysis of a multi degree of freedom aircraft wing model

This paper presented methods to determine the aerodynamic forces that acton an aircraft wing during flight. These methods are initially proposed for asimplified two degree-of-freedoms airfoil model and then are extensivelyapplied for a multi-degree-of-freedom airfoil system. Different airspeedconditions are considered in establishing such methods. The accuracy of thepresented methods is verifie...
